The Cat Doctor was founded in 1994 by Dr. Tracy McFarland. It was her desire to have a cllinic devoted to the enhancement of feline medicine. While at U.C. Davis, Dr. McFarland decided that she wanted to specialize in feline medicine. Although she has extensive experience with dogs and loves them, her clinic was to be for cats only.

Mission Statement
Caring for cats and the people who love them. That is a simple way of saying that we love cats like our children. This includes the best possible medical care, good nursing care and lots of attention when they are in the hospital. Our staff strives to be compassionate with all our clients and understand each owner's unique situation and relationship with their animal. Good communication between staff and clients can only lead to better medicine for those we care for. That is our goal.
Pet Health & Safety
To insure the health and safety of all our guests, we insist that pets with overdue vaccines receive them on arrival. Because we are a veterinary hospital we can handle any medical problem that may occur. Clients are billed at the regular rate for these services. We are aware that it is always different leaving home, so we suggest limiting food and water intake for the first day of the visit and on homecoming day.
Fees
Our fees are set in accordance with the level of service and professionalism that we provide for clients and patients. Fees are due and payable upon presentation. For your convenience we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. Although we will provide you with a written estimate, it is just that. An estimate of what our experience tells us will cost to provide the services you have requested that we perform. In cases where an emergency situation presents itself we will provide the level of care that you have indicated you wish us to provide. This may incur additional charges. We will endeavor to contact you as soon as possible to determine your wishes.
---------- NOTICE FROM THE CAT DOCTOR WEBMASTER We're sorry, but PLEASE do not write Dr. McFarland asking for a diagnosis of your cat's problem. She cannot respond. In the opinion of Dr. McFarland, it is not responsible to diagnose feline illnesses via the Internet. PLEASE go to your local veterinarian who can diagnose hands-on to provide you with what your cat needs. If you have a suggestion as to the form or content of these web pages or are interested in advertising on these pages, please address them to the WebMaster, The Cat Doctor. Please do not send questions about your cat to this address as I'm not a vet and can't answer your questions.
